A sapphire anniversary for Reliance Insurance Brokers

This year marks a very special anniversary for Reliance Insurance Brokers; on 3 December we celebrate our 45th birthday!

As one of the oldest independent insurance brokerages in the country, it has been a privilege servicing South Africans for the past four-and-a-half decades.

Throughout this time we have aimed to uphold the principles and values of our father and Reliance founder, the late Abdulhay Mohamed Mayet.

Abdulhay was a renowned figure in the local insurance sector and son of Saley's Insurance Agencies founder, Mohamed Saley Mayet. He built a thriving company with outstanding client, stakeholder and industry relationships as its foundation.

Our father had served the local insurance industry for 57 years at the time of his passing in 2020. His memory, legacy, traditional values, sense of family and commitment to his community live on in the business, and it is that that we have maintained alongside the firm's reputation for unwavering customer service and family traditions, such as serving tea in prized bone China tea sets!

A lot has changed in South Africa in 45 years. However, like our father, our mission remains to provide the highest standards of expertise and experience in short-term insurance and risk management advisory with a firm focus on customer service excellence.

Our overarching vision is to be the top-of-mind broker of choice, and recognised for service quality excellence.

Interwoven among all this is our dedication to our company's values of integrity, attention to detail, personal service with a smile, continually striving for customer service excellence, building relationships, and nurturing trust and value one policy at a time.

Through this approach we hope to continue our father's legacy and ensure that the spirit of the business he founded endures for decades to come.
